How long does a typical surveillance investigation take?

Will the subject know they are being surveilled?
No. Our investigators use unmarked vehicles, civilian clothing, and counter-surveillance training to remain completely undetected. Discretion is at the core of what we do — all client communication is confidential and reports are delivered through secure channels.

How many investigators are on a typical surveillance shift?
Most shifts run with one to three investigators depending on the subject's mobility, traffic conditions, and risk of detection. Single-investigator coverage works for stationary subjects; multi-vehicle teams are used for active subjects, downtown Toronto traffic, or anyone who may take counter-surveillance precautions.

Can a private investigator surveil someone on their own property?
Investigators can document anything visible from a public vantage point — street, sidewalk, neighbouring public space — even if the subject is on private property. We do not trespass, climb fences, look through windows from private land, or use technical means to penetrate a residence. Everything we capture is lawfully observed.

What happens if the subject notices the surveillance?
Detection is rare with experienced operators, but if it happens we immediately withdraw, regroup, and reassess the approach — usually swapping vehicles, investigators, and routes. We tell you what happened, what evidence we already have, and whether continuing makes sense. We never escalate or confront.

Can you conduct surveillance at night, on weekends, or on holidays?
Yes. Our surveillance teams operate 24/7, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Many infidelity, custody, and insurance investigations specifically require off-hours coverage, since the behaviour we're documenting often happens outside the workday. We schedule shifts around the subject's pattern, not ours.
